Prehistoric Diet

The subject of nutrition taking in archeology an important role. However, the field of knowledge of the prehistoric diet is not a separate discipline within archeology. Through the knowledge of the nutritional composition, preparation or processing of food as well as the discovery of equipment or utensils in certain situation, you may find answers to other social issues, in terms of gender roles or social organizations (which were responsible for this workspace) (division of labor ), but possibly also answers individual matters relating to subsistence agriculture as production of food, preservation, stockpiling and preparation methods.Only taste properties of a food as seasoning or certain eating habits can be reconstructed only partially.Traces of weeds / wild herbs can be found repeatedly in Neolithic settlements and in large quantities, so one can assume that these were brought intentionell there. Looking at the different foods that were available, such as meat, fish, cereals and a variety of different wild plants, it is indicative of a certain range of culinary options for Neolithic human.
